Trike-A-Thon

Today at school Kurt had a Trike-A-Thon for St. Jude Children's Hospital.  Kurt told me that the trike-a-thon will raise money for the hospital so really sick kids can get better.  I was so proud of him. The class had a great time. I would also like to add... thank you weather bug for holding off the snow. 

Bald Eagle

The boys and I wanted to see the bald eagle nest at High Banks Park. So we set out on the mile hike up to the observation deck.  On our way we saw 10 gray squirrels and lots of trees that been cut down.  Ever now and then I would ask the boys if they wanted to turn around.  They always told me "No", "lets keep going".  When we got to the sign of the observation deck I was so proud of them.  However it was a little disappointing.  We could not see the eagle nest that good and the bald eagles were no where around :(
But views were beautiful and I can't believe how far we hiked. Way a go Kurt and Luke....

cabin fever

Good old Ohio weather, beautiful and warm one weekend then back to cold raining and snow.  This weather is so hard on little boys who just want to be outside in the sun and golf.  The other day Rick and I took the boys over to alum to get out of the house. Even though it was cold it was a nice break to be outside.

Time away....

With all the wonderful people in our lives, Rick and I got to go on a trip together.  The boys had a great time here at home while mom and dad had a great time in Philadelphia.  Why there?  We had tickets to the NCAA Div I wrestling tournament. 

It was a great week of wrestling and trying to finger out Philadelphia.  However by the end of the week we missed the boys and could not wait to get home and love on them.

Boxes are really the best toy you can get for your kids.  I had a box and Kurt could not wait to play with it.  So when it finally became Kurt's and Luke's they had lots of ideas.  I put a door in the back so they can get in and out.  Then they wanted windows to see out of, a blanket on top.  During down time Kurt started  coloring on the inside to make it "pretty". This was a beginning of a week long project.  I love the interest they had in coloring and making the box their own.

Couple of weeks ago, I was out of town for scrapbook weekend.  Daddy and the boys were on their own.  Friday night they went out to eat and then had to come home to take of a problem at the house (nothing big).  Saturday morning Kurt told me he had to get his own shows on because daddy was sleeping.  Then Luke wanted a snack.  Now if anyone knows Luke he loves his food.  When he gets up  he is ready to eat.  Well Daddy was still sleeping, so Luke got his own snack.  When the whales fell all over the floor, Rick then got up to see what the boys were into.  This is was he found.....

When Rick sent me a picture, I started laughing because this is not the first time we've spilled snacks on the floor.  But the best part is when Rick told me that he was getting ready to vacuum the mess up and Luke asked him if he knows how to use the it... If not he can show him....Priceless...:):)
