Sassafras Tea

It was another adventure with daddy tonight.  After dinner we headed out to Alum creek to look for a tree called sassafras.  Daddy said it makes great tea. So off  we go into the woods.  We all were so happy because mommy joined us on our hike.  I really think mommy wanted to see if daddy really knew what he was talking about.  After a long walk and a couple of turns we found a sassafras tree.  While daddy was getting the root of the tree Luke and I were throwing rocks in the lake.  It was getting darker and darker and finally we were ready to hike back out.  This is where the adventure really started.  Daddy had trouble finding the trail and mommy was not to happy with him.  We finally found the trail and daddy pointed us in the wrong direction this was at 7:00 pm.  After we got closer to the lake he told mommy we needed to turn back around. Mommy was steaming (this is how daddy put it). Mommy led the way and we found our way back to the van at 8:00 pm.  With all the excitement of the night, daddy enjoyed making the tea and having us taste it.  We loved the sassafras tea....
